21.


It's been a while since I have updated. Once again, I have been going to the gym 5 times a week, but for the past 2 weeks, I decided to an extra 15 minutes to my work out. I was able to lose 5 pounds in 2 weeks instead of my usual 3-4. I am ELATED!
I did not post a second Before/After picture. I didn't think there were any major differences between this month and last month's picture.
I started my diet, Sept 7th, this marks 2 months since the beginning of my diet-- a total of 21 pounds have been lost.

Make no excuses, only progress. 
I am really excited, you have no idea!!!! And the great thing about losing weight this time around is that, I have not completely deprived myself of the foods i wanted to eat, i just make sure to eat smaller portions. I also make sure to select healthier choices on the menu at a restaurant. The reason why my diets have failed in the past: I would cut off all my favorite foods and strictly eat nothing but healthy food. I would suppress my craving no matter what and continue on my diet. The problem with that is, as soon as I am off the diet, i binge and eat everything i couldn't eat. Now, if i want a cookie, i have one. if i want a slice of pizza, i have one--ONLY ONE SLICE(remember, small portions). Tomorrow, I will be baking dark chocolate oatmeal cookies-- a healthier alternative to regular choco chip cookies. I am really excited that i was able to lose 15 pounds. I have a lot more weight to lose, and i have faith that i can do it.

I don't hate the gym anymore, but i have had more cakes than i should in the past 2 weeks.
My mom made pound cake from scratch last week and now there's a HUGE birthday cake sitting in my kitchen. Vanilla cake with vanilla mousse filling--my favorite.
Anyways, i plan to weigh myself this week. I have been going to the gym but i am really afraid that eating all these cakes may have hindered my progress.
We shall see.

It's raining. It's raining hard. Having to walk in this hard rain to go to the gym is something i DO NOT WANT TO DO, but i gotta stay motivated..blah.
I am going to have oatmeal for lunch and for dinner, i am going to have

brown rice fried rice.
cooked brown rice
scrambled egg whites
very little olive oil
peas and other veggies
pinch of soy sauce
 (already cooked) chicken breast for protein.
then i am going to put it all in  a skillet and just let it cook for a few minues

I am feeling discouraged. SO SOOOOOOOOOOON?  I know, i know.
I am feeling really down. I feel like i am not getting anywhere. I am getting so tired of the gym, at this point, I HATE IT! I FUCKING HATE THE GYM!!!!!!!! I wish i had motivation. My family don't care--not one bit. I wish i had support and someone to keep pushing me. It's getting tough.
I am also really, really, reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally hungry tonight. I just want to eat everything i can't. I am craving cake and ice cream--the ultimate food for fatties.

I will try to push forward, this wouldn't be an honest blog if i didn't delineate my troubles and obstacles. I've joined some online communities for support, but it hasn't helped. Wanting to lose 33 pounds seem so far from now. Whatever, i am in it to win it. Right?

SIGH.

TODAY IS OCT 1ST -Monday
I can physically see where i am losing the weight, especially in my arms and hips. I visited a few friends and they mentioned that it looked like i lost weight, so that made me happy. Didn't know losing 9 pounds could show through clothing. Imagine 30 pounds..
I hate the gym, i reallly do. But i think of it as a game, and in order to beat this game, i HAVE TO GO so i can lose the  weight.
I'm actually excited to post an AFTER PICTURE. I pray that God gives me the motivation to keep going. I am hoping to lose at least 5 pounds by the end of Oct. I also feel like i've been eating pretty badly. I had 2 slices of cake on Saturday (we are all allowed to cheat, but why do i feel so guilty?) and i had on Sunday 2 skewers of chicken kebobs and 2 meat kebobs with a side of salad (just lettuce and tomatoes. I DON'T EVER USE DRESSING ON MY SALAD. IT has lots of calories, and i am completely used to eating it without). Anyways, my stomach has been so used to eating the bare amount, that i was so full it started to hurt. I also haven't eaten that much meat since i've started my diet--mostly fish. Oh well.


5 POUNDS DOWN BY THE END OF OCTOBER GOAL...
I CAN DO IT :D I am going to make a calendar and start counting down, i want to be at least 193 by HALLOWEEN

I was supposed to wait until Saturday to weigh myself but i did it today. In 5 days, i lost 1.6 pounds.
Experts say it's ideal to lose anywhere between 1-2 pounds a week so i'm definitely in that range.
I should be providing a BEFORE and AFTER picture on OCT 6th. I don't really see any physical changes but i'll post it up anyway.

Don't pay too much attention to the weight shown, this picture is to demonstrate exactly how big of a yoyo dieter i am. This picture is in a span of 2+ years . As you can see 2 years ago, i was almost at my 165 pound goal. This time, i plan on going far.


07.

It's been a while since i've posted, mainly because  few days ago i weighed myself and i came out to be 2 pounds heavier. I am not entirely sure why that is, but it put me in an incredibly bad mood.
As one with a Biology degree, i entirely understand how the body works, and there's absolutely no way i could gain that much muscle in 2 weeks.
Muscle burns fat and raises your metabolism, so if the weight gain was truly due to muscle, i wouldn't complain one bit.Haha.

I am not even sure why i gained 2 pounds. I go to the gym 5x a week, i burn about 800-900 cals doing cardio, i do strength training and i walk to and from the gym, which is a total of 2 miles. I also eat extremely healthy.

Oh well, i am not going to stress about it. I am just going to move forth.

This process would be so much easier if i had a partner. UGH!

Anyways, this is what i'll be having for dinner, I really love our recipe book and it has some really great healthy recipes.

The vitamin B-12 supplements i've been taking is actually working. I feel like i have a lot more energy, especially at the gym. i am able to go further than i used to. I really want to get rid of the weight around my arms, stomach, waist and thighs, but i know that's not how losing weight works. I can't really target a specific spot. Anyways, i weighed myself and i am down to:

199.8 pounds.

This diet really sucks sometimes. I am not thinking about giving up, but i do have my ups and downs. The problem with me dieting is that, i push myself way too hard. I go to the gym 5x a week and  burn myself out. I need to learn how to relax and take it easy. I am also starting to get really tired and bored of the elliptical-- i am usually on it for more than 70 minutes at a time, but that's because i get the most efficient workout on that machine.
I started to pick up strength training as well. I don't do it as much as cardio, but it's still better than nothing. As we all know, muscle burns fat, so i have no other choice but to incorporate it into my exercise routine.
I'm also waiting for a call back from WSSC. If i get the job, i am not sure how it will affect my exercise regimen--but i am hoping i can still go at least 4x a week.My next weigh in should be 9/22/12--so i'll be sure to post my weight.

P.S: I've been looking for a gym partner, but for some reason, they are so hard to come by. I really don't have any support and i would love to workout with someone who can motivate me as much as i can motivate them.

So it's 9/15/12..Yeah, i am sorry it has taken me this long to update.
I decided to stop drinking honey and  cinnamon-- i really couldnt find any real explanation on the internet in regards to weight loss, other than: OH HAI IT WORKS! TRY IT!
I DID however start taking 2500mg vitamin B-12 microlozenge a day. B-12 vitamins promotes energy metabolism and nervous system health. I need all the energy for the gym, especially if i want to go 5x a week.


As for the gym, i had a consultant with a personal trainer on Thursday-nothing too fancy. I found out that my 

BMI: 30.1
FAT PERCENTAGE: 38.9

AWWW, SAD FACE! These numbers mean i am considered obese. BOOO! :(
These numbers better drop soon.







P.S: I don't have a personal trainer (i wish). As a new member of the gym, i had to consult with him. It's just something that needed to be done.

 I learned that cinnamon and honey helps with weight loss. I am going to add it to my diet and my exersice regimen. Here's the recipe:
Recipe Ingredients
1 teaspoon honey
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder1 cup of water

InstructionsCombine the cinnamon and honey with the water in a small saucepan.Bring the mixture to a boil.Filter the liquid into a cup and divide into two half-cup quantities.Consume one half an hour before breakfast and the second half an hour before going to sleep at night.

I'll let you guys know how it goes. I'll officially start today.




Anyways, I went to the gym today, as usual. An old woman actually fell off the treadmill and injured herself.
The paramedics were called;It was actually very sad to see.

I burned 800 cals as usual. I also make sure I walk to and from the gym. It's a total of a 2 mile walk.

Day two.
Everything is okay, I am more hungry than usual but i think it's because i know i can't eat the things i want to.
I burned 850 cals at the gym today, so YAY me.
I used to burn 1000 cals almost every day at the gym when i used to go, but i realized i was pushing my self in a way that i didn't need to.e I think  burning 800/850 at the gym is a great target goal.



I also mentioned that i wouldn't bring up my diet, but i figured i'd talk about it.

Breakfast: 2 slices of bread with honey
Lunch: Brown rice and spinach
Dinner: turkey sandwich and fruit.

I promised i would start a blog detailing my weight loss journey. 

I have done this before, as I am the biggest yo-yo dieter there is. I've lost over 30-40 pounds in the past and have gained it all back throughout the years.

I am hoping to change things now. Today is day one, 9-9-12 and i'm more dedicated than ever.
